Christopher Griffith trained to be a research biochemist in the field of genetic engineering before quitting four months shy of his Ph.D. to take up photography. His site has some beautiful photos of leaves — Flash nav, click “books” and then “Fall” — from his book “Fall.”

Great pics. Interesting note: celebrity wedding photographer Joe Buissink was also in the midst of his Ph.D. studies when he quit to pursue photography.
