Does a Chrysler Pacifica embody the 37 Signals/Getting Real philosophies? I’d be interested to know what the rest of the 37 Signals team drives and how their wheels relate to the 37 Signals manifesto. It’d be a real measuring stick as to how far each member of the team applies those principles in all aspects of their lives.

If public transporatation wasn’t an option, my personal vehicle of choice would be a Sparrow, now known as a ‘NMG’ http://www.myersmotors.com/ But, if money was no object, I’d spring for the Tesla http://www.teslamotors.com/

I believe Jason on more than one occasion has mentioned that he drives an Audi A4.

WHAT ? I’ve integrated the 37Signals WAY OF LIFE into every facet of my life. From choosing girlfriends to choosing what to eat, I ask myself, what would 37signals do?

Punctuation on plates varies from state to state. I lived in North Carolina for two years and they counted most anything, although towards uniqueness it did not count. So “FOO” would be the same as “FOO.”

California allows for heart characters.

Nevada does the standard A-Z and 0-9. Our custom plates have gone down the shitter the past few years. The letters on custom plates look like stickers, whereas standard plates are still raised metal.

Unbelievably nerdy. I wish DMV ’s allowed for longer license plates so we could possibly add an email to the back of one of these, or even a ”.” (period) would be a nice addition as well.

I know for a fact that Jason does not drive an A4.

Unfortunately jealous cynics like “Andrew” make comments, ...but fortunately they get thrashed by logic, optimism, and great attitudes. It’s especially enjoyable when they get thrashed by people many times more effective and successful than their cynical attitudes would ever lead them to be.

What is the “37 Signals Way”, anyway? I understood Getting Real to be applicable to doing business.

Personally, I drive a 450rwhp twin-turbo Nissan 350Z, but you’d be hard pressed to find me produce much waste if any, it’s the one luxury I allow myself.

There is still a concept of “fun” and “enjoyment”, and even with the current prices of gas, the cost/benefit analysis still lies on the side of benefit for me, personally.

I guess you guys aren’t familiar with the aussie slang for the word root.

Root (verb and noun): synonym for f*ck in nearly all its senses: “I feel rooted”; “this washing machine is rooted”; “(s)he’s a good root”. A very useful word in fairly polite company.

You can get all kinds of things on your plate in California…hand print silhouette, lightning bolt, heart…

Seriously though: the 37S crew has mentioned cars a few times on this blog and I can’t remember them ever heaping praise on a car that wasn’t a stinker in terms of reliability. Audis mostly. But that may be my faulty memory.

It won’t be long until spammers install cameras on streets to fish email addresses from license plates. A bummer.

Despite what DHH says, 37signals DOES mandate that all employees use Macs. –And that’s a GOOD thing.

I personally think license plates are the bane of beautiful vehicles. Some vehicle designers embrace plates by turning the entire back-end of their vehicles into a frame for the the hideous plate, while other (smart) designers do their best to hide it by relegating it to the bumper or below it.

You bozos discussing their choice in cars, religion, and applying ‘getting real’ to everyday life really need to find a hobby.

That being said, incredibly geeky plate. Seems out of place in NC, but I’ve seen quite a few variations on that theme out here in the Bay Area.

Wow! I’m in NC and I’ve never seen @ on a license plate before. I switched cars about a year ago and I still have no idea what my current plate says, unlike my first car whose plate I’ll probably remember for the next decade.
