37signals Affiliate Program Update Jason F. Aug 28

15 comments Latest by JF

Just a quick update on our new 37signals Affiliate Program.

We launched it about 90 days ago and so far we’ve seen about 1000 new product signups referred by 37signals Affiliates. Basecamp leads referrals, Backpack is second and Highrise a very close third.

Some people are working harder than others. The top affiliate has potential earnings of over $1300 already!

If you’re an affiliate, thanks for representing our product to your clients, colleagues, friends, and family. If you’re not, please consider becoming a 37signals Affiliate today. It only takes 30 seconds to get started and there’s no cost to you.

Nice to hear some news about the affiliate program. Was just wondering the other day. And an average of over 10 affiliates per day doesn’t sound too bad.

Any update as to whether the affiliate program will be opened up to the UK and elsewhere outside the US? I’d sign up for sure if so!

+1 for UK

+1 for international. Is the US only policy for tax reasons or for something else?

JF 28 Aug 08

The current US-only policy is explained on the FAQ page:

At this time we can only accept affiliates based in the United States. Once we’ve squared away tax arrangements with other countries we will begin to allow non-US affiliates to sign up. Note: You can promote and sell our products to anyone in the world, but you have to live in the US in order to be paid affiliate commissions.

Is that $1300 a month for that top affiliate?

JF 28 Aug 08

Dan: That is $1300 total earned so far. That includes recurring revenue and one-time commission payments.

Care to open-source the affiliate code anytime soon?

I’m faced with building something similar and it doesn’t look fun :D

Any chance of getting some stats from the affiliate software i.e. clickthroughs, conversions etc.

Lou Mindar 01 Sep 08

Jason—Just another plug for allowing affiliates to link to pages other than the home page of each product. I think it will help with conversion rates. Thanks!

Lou: It works now. We pushed this update recently.
