As I’ve already pointed out later this week, you seem to have run out of interesting topics. Now, you post only for the sake of posting. Something. Anything. Making noise instead of making sense. Quantity instead of quality.

I think the most interesting part of this post (although I did the photo pretty funny), are the comments such as Walter’s above. You’d think he was paying for this or something! I’ve been getting my entertainment lately from the anti-37S folk out there. Just the other day I was looking for something on the Basecamp Forum and came across a women that kept slamming 37S for putting ads at the top of the Dashboard screen. That she is paying for this (assume not the free account) and she should not have to see System announcements! That its disrupting her work! haahaa. I nearly wet myself. Can’t make everyone happy I guess.

i actually think it’s rather funny. people need to lighten up. it’s called humor and some people get it others don’t. no worries. at least it’s not your favicon they’re after! peace. bv.

The funniest part of this post is the title. I saw that in NNW and thought, “I really should check this out. Who protests a favicon.” There’s something inherently funny about the terms “favicon” and “protest” existing in the same title. Thankfully this was a funny post. If it wasn’t, I’d be bashing you like some of the other commenters. After all, if I don’t enjoy every single post in your free blog, I deserve to be pissed. ;)

From an ethical point of view, what an awful thing to say: 37 signals supporters cannot express disappointment when the quality slips. They needs to buy literally with money the right to speak up. In other words, it doesn’t matter if one cares about SVN enough to wish for improvements. “Be complaisant or… shut up. No complaints allowed if you don’t show a heap of $$$ first.”

No, not funny. Actually, really sad. People learn very fast how things work here. This blog is a promotional tool for 37 signals, which it’s perfectly legitimate and I’m okay with it. However, some regular commentators (which I’m tempted to call sect followers more than anything else) don’t allow the slightest divergence of opinion. “Don’t say anything against our beloved blog or you’ll be shun. You are either 110% with us or an heretics.”

It’s amazing how some of you can only think in terms of black or white. Grey areas exist. Nobody was offended. The joke was poor and the post subpar. Can you understand that? Apparently not. They are a treat.” Don’t worry, Matt and his colleges will all survive just fine, without your help.
