Basecamp has helped my company manage many client projects, and grow very quickly.

When will we see a new version of Basecamp? There are several interaction problems which have persisted for quite sometime, and several basic features could stand to be improved.

My business has been using Basecamp for almost a year now. Started with a free account, now on basic (also have a highrise account), and should need a plus account within the next month or two. Basecamp also piqued my interest in Ruby, and I’m now working on my first real rails project for a customer. Thanks for the great products you’ve built, and all the great stuff you’ve given back to the rest of us. You guys deserve every bit of success that has come to you.

I remember it was a bumpy ride for a little while, with a few uptime issues, but I can’t remember the last time I had a problem. Lately you’ve had better uptime than Google, as far as I can tell!

I don’t know how I manage anything without you. I collaborate between basecamp, freshbooks and my remote clients and if you didn’t exist. Well, my business would pretty much collapse. Thank you basecamp and happy birthday to you!

For being around 5 years, there should be a lot more features available making it more of a true project management/communication system. There’s so many key (relatively simple) features that would make it so much better, but user suggestions are so often ignored for months and years. Been using the system for quite some time now and really like the interface and am trying to keep faith and not switch to another service… so I really hope to get more of my money’s worth in the near future or a change may be necessary!

I’m using the free one for my own company, a small indie label + record store pretty much as a virtual bulletin board, but I also recently made my day job (a mid-sized IT company where I’m a project manager) acquire it for our smaller and more agile projects and I have to say I’m really happy that I did, since it’s made communications in our projects much more efficient and has provided much needed transparency towards our customers!

We are loving Basecamp at our small nonprofit, but wishing there was a discount for grassroots groups and small 501©(3)... we have outgrown our $49/plan, but don’t know if we can afford the $99 plan… so now we’re kinda stuck… any ideas would be much appreciated!

Just a great product all the way around. I’ve personally tried almost everything out there and settled in to Basecamp a little over a year ago. I wished I had found it sooner.

Thanks to your Bascamp, me and my partner started a company, all the information could be very organized, and it alawed as to work from any location, our company was a great success, thanks to you we didn’t need to spend extra budget in an office and your “search” saved us a lot of times !!!

I am literaly in love with the TO DO !!! now days I can't live with out it ! you became part of my day by day and with your tools I feel able to go for any project !

it is a great tool for creative people that are not organized…

Many congrats to you all at 37Signal. Basecamp is so cool and I LOVE IT ! Our company started with a free plan and now we are using MAX plan. Now Basecamp is our only tool we use. Thank you for your hard work. Can’t wait to see for more amazing and clever things you guys come up with!

We are a multisite SME (several UK site, France, Greece) and we use basecamp for years to deliver projects and to prepare new business proposals and tenders. Today, I cannot imagine how we would work otherwise. Working on Basecamp has become company best practice and, although we do not only use this tool to collaborate, it is our primary planning and delivery tool. Clients, partners and prospects are also brought into our collaborative world though basecamp.

Happy birthday to Basecamp and thanks for your ongoing innovations. Can we wish for a more advanced search tool within the next 5 years?

Basecamp is a fantastic product backed by a truly free-thinking, in-the-trenches staff. Well done, 37s. Teaching as an adjunct professor at a number of different colleges in any given semester, BC has given me some great new productivity for group work project completion. I began using it last summer for a class at the University of Notre Dame, and used your video tutorials as part of my intro of BC to the class. The students picked up on it right away and realized how superior its interface and usability were compared with the bloated, twitchy and counter-intuitive collaboration programs many schools are still punishing us with.

Also, on a design note for your new BC marketing page re-design (couldn’t find a more appropriate posting to write this), the following wording on the Extras & Add-Ons page might lead the reader to believe that you, 37s/Basecamp, “work with” (as in, collaborating with, sanctioning, supporting) the 3rd-party apps you mention here.

Basecamp works with a variety of iPhone apps, third-party billing/invoicing tools, mock-up review software, time tracking tools, widgets, and more.

Most of us know what you mean (that BC is compatible with x and x) but just thought I’d mention how that could come across to those not familiar with 37s or BC. I could see how being very precise about your level of involvement with 3rd-party apps might reduce support requests that you should not be receiving.

But, again, congrats… and many more successful years!
