That’s some great copy on this screen from Zen. I love the “wait, I remember!” link. The email icon in the input field is cool too.

Isn’t Zen a competitor to Basecamp? Is it going to be leaner and simplier than Basecamp?

Thanks! It’s always best to be humane when someone’s frustrated, right? :)

The copy might be great, but the styling on that input box is unfortunate. Perhaps in context it isn’t so bad, but in this snapshot the green is reminiscent of the flash notification style (that basecamp popularized, if not pioneered).

Zen is greatly lacking in have at least 2 users for their free offering.
How’re you supposed to try this “team” app out on 1 user alone?

@avanan
So signup for a month. are you a business man/woman or not? The idea that people should be getting free usable apps(especially in the professional arena) is like a plague on the net.

Very interesting. There seems to be a trend to reduce copy ad absurdum because everybody is “too busy.” But, especially when you’re feeling silly (like I always do when I forget a password), a little human touch goes a long way.

Too many words

Hmmm, that’s a lot of text for a regular skimmer like me. Makes it very useful that they boldisized the “You forgot your password?” part – I think 90% of users will not read beyond that, but the remaining 10% will appreciate the extra effort and the friendliness of tone.
Very good thinking indeed.

I’ll echo the comments of others. Way to wordy and I had no idea that was a text box until I read your comment about the icon in the text box. The icon itself is cute. The coloring and border are confusing.

Am I missing something or that dialog let’s you resest anyaccount password providing any valid email address??
Kevin B 24 Jul 09
Yes, Pablo you’re missing something—it will send a message to that E-Mail address to confirm your identity. It says “You will have to click the link in the email we send”

Pablo, the link you receive in your email will reset your password. At least that is what I expect :)

Tone of voice is right on….though the copy isn’t structured well.

I thought it is cool they called out a competitor in a good way. That means a couple things to me. One, they are researching their competitors. Two, they aren’t stuck in the mindset their way is the best and only way.
