Comparing the circle analogy to what Nietzsche implied in Thus Spoke Zarathustra we can further elaborate on the theory of the creative mind that it needs an oval sphere that guides it so it constantly evolves and guides you to your better self, thus pushing the need for change and bringing the gap between the rich and the poor, an innovative approach to what has been a worldwide problem that has been approached in schools all over the world, seeking the brightest scholars and the ones excelling in all areas of life to share and connect and continually push the limits of the human mind, implying how things such as poverty and illiteracy are as bullets that rip apart our society, that is rotting with the entertainment industry, with the likes of Britney Spears and Brad Pitt, who are regular, sensitive, often humble human beings that need the support and approval of others while we regard them as just things and we dig into their private affairs, meddling in their lives as if they did to ours, completely sabotaging our chances of living a life worth living.

It should be a circle – no start / no end – repeating itself
He’s probably talking about the Basecamp logo being put in a yellow circle on the new signup form: http://37signals.com/svn/posts/1867-design-decisions-new-signup-form
Who said it can’t be? Right, but who said it should be?
but you can’t have a triangle jerk or a square jerk. It just wouldn’t work.

Who said it can be a circle?
...
Wait, now I’m confused.
David Turnbull 21 Aug 09
Now I’m looking forward to the next time my friend says “think outside the square”.
Jamie Tibbetts 21 Aug 09
That would make a ping pong table really hard to play on.
mx 21 Aug 09
It’s a circle.
Jason Wietholter 21 Aug 09
The only thing I know is that I never said insight couldn’t be circle.
Makes perfect sense to me that insight can be anything…
Pat 21 Aug 09
Circle! What? No way, it CANNOT be a circle. What were you thinking? Circles… sheeesh.
Marcus 21 Aug 09
Steve did. He said it had to be a cube.
yusmo 21 Aug 09
spiral is more like it.
Chris Smith 21 Aug 09
You know… for kids.
Nathan Fitzsimmons 21 Aug 09
I love that you get comments for what was probably an accidental publish. And that 1 Google Reader user likes it.
Nathan Fitzsimmons 21 Aug 09
Although, it could just be high brow philosophy that I’m not getting…. ;)
David Turnbull 21 Aug 09
@Nathan – I think Jason’s going for the semi-philosophical thing.
People say “Think outside the square” or “Think outside the box” but those statements in themselves aren’t doing what they’re preaching.
That’s my theory at least.
August Lilleaas 21 Aug 09
I accidentally the whole circle =/
Marko 21 Aug 09
It can. But should it be?

Internet Explorer.
Oh, sorry, circle. I thought you said box with CSS -based round corners. My mistake…
Paul Dixon 21 Aug 09
Interesting post, I like the part about the circle.
Tim Norris 21 Aug 09
Why does it have to be anything? Let it decide for itself. Stop boxing shapes into categories…
If it wakes up this morning and wants to be a square, then let it.
If we were all circles, wouldn’t like be boring???

I blame for pixel for saying “it can’t be a circle.”
I’ve never successfully made a perfect circle with a bunch of squares, but maybe I’m not trying hard enough.
Rahul 21 Aug 09
Right, that’s a new question for questionparty.com
Richard 22 Aug 09
Retread ? Refresh?? Redo???
Just noticed that “Getting Real” has the same Seth Godin quote about peril.
Maybe time for a new one?
