Are you reading Derek Sivers’ blog? He’s really been killing it with good posts lately. The “hippie capitalist” (he’s a musician who founded CD Baby) is a master at offering simple advice that delivers real impact.

Some recent examples:

His site also offers detailed notes on books he’s read with a focus on titles about business, investing, and psychology. I’ve found those notes are a perfect match for Instapaper, the iPhone app that lets you read web pages even when you’re offline and saves your place on longer pieces. Together they make a terrific subway reading combo.

Thanks Matt! I really appreciate it. You guys are a huge inspiration to me. :-)

Derek has made a huge impact in the independent music world. Even though he doesn’t own CDBaby anymore, he is still involved with a ton of music projects, and has created a site that I try to link back to as much as possible (in CDBaby, as opposed to iTunes). If you’re a person interested in management, or with an itch for knowledge, you can learn a great deal from him.

It’s too bad 37signals wasn’t around when Derek started the company: http://sivers.org/trust-but-verify :)

What I find interesting is the naming convention of his links—simple and to the point. No ”/yyyy-mm-dd” or ”/blog” or ”/post-id-number” or ”/full-name-of-blog-title.” Just “domain/keyword.” It almost looks wrong, but I like it.

The Idea Multiplier effect is unreal .

I use that to help convince my clients its time to jump in the water and make their dreams happen. Some clients don’t see the point of doing their project, but I tell them the idea is worth nothing in their head, we’d love to help make it a real thing for them.

Good stuff! Really enjoyed the “paths to pave” post – what a great analogy.

Yep – his blog is one of the best ones I read – along with svn of course :)

I Was turned onto it from one of Jason’s tweets. It’s awesome that you’re posting it here.

Derek is a perfect example of great content speaking for itself. I’m an internet entrepreneur living in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and there are some friends here also reading his wonderful blog.

And I just love his books notes section :-)

Great advices, but when I go to his blog it seems to be translated in french by some cheap translator. Therefore it’s hard to understand what he’s trying to say.

And you can’t choose lannguage to go back to the original version.

-1 :(
