@dhh: You make some convincing counterarguments to the prevailing attitudes about the necessity to raise outside capital in the software industry. However, I think they’d be more effective if you can tone down the invective and let your arguments stand on their own. I realize there is emotion involved and at the end of the day it simply boils down to a stylistic choice, but switching to “moron voice” when you paraphrase your critics only weakens your position.

1. It would be interested to know how many of your critics actually run a business rather than just write or comment on it.
2. You should read John Timpson’s recent book – This guys came in to a three generation family business with many of the models you talk about years ago…some similarities to Semco also
