RE: critics of Rework

Don’t be so defensive :) – have you read your book :)

You guys are successful, have a good thing going, and are lucky to have a loyal following.

We must believe in luck. For how else can we explain the success of those we don’t like? —Jean Cocteau

@dhh: You make some convincing counterarguments to the prevailing attitudes about the necessity to raise outside capital in the software industry. However, I think they’d be more effective if you can tone down the invective and let your arguments stand on their own. I realize there is emotion involved and at the end of the day it simply boils down to a stylistic choice, but switching to “moron voice” when you paraphrase your critics only weakens your position.

I am not sure because I am based in Australia and/or Itunes is misbehaving, but this is the same as Part 1 or 2.

Does anyone else experience the same?

@Rish,

This is showing up as the same for me too, and I used gPodder to get it (not iTunes).

Martin Labuschin 12 May 10

Matt,

Do you have the transcript? I would love to have it. Thanks.

1. It would be interested to know how many of your critics actually run a business rather than just write or comment on it.

2. You should read John Timpson’s recent book – This guys came in to a three generation family business with many of the models you talk about years ago…some similarities to Semco also
