I love that diagram but do boredom and anxiety need to be switched?

Very, very neat, but I can’t get the save dialogue up on my iPad :-(

Chalk is really neat. The one function I’m missing is: clear board (I know I’m supposed to wipe the complete board just like I would on a classic ‘analogue’ chalkboard. Although that’s great for nostalgic reasons, after a few drawings it’s annoying. Is there a way to detect ‘shaking’ the iOS device from within JavaScript? or a double tap on the wiper would be fine to to clear the entire board. Anyway: thanks for chalk (iChalk?)

Good job on Chalk!! I think I really need to start looking into HTML5 a lot more than I have so far!!

I’m sure there will be much more of those drawings when you publish non-elitist version of Chalk for the rest of the web – the one which will work in all modern browsers and not just on the overpriced piece of fancy hardware known as iPad.

I thought the same thing, but like Jason said, hit reload in Safari. It works exactly like a clear board button would, and the page loads super fast (on wifi at least).

The negative comments regarding the free release of chalk are fascinating. I’m just sitting here with my mouth wide open reading some of these comments (here and on the previous post about chalk). A bird actually built a nest in my mouth! I don’t think these people are particularly bad people, but it does seem like their view of some things has become especially skewed. How can you accuse someone of creating an elitist version of “software” when its completely free? Just because it only works on the ipad? What if they released it for all browsers, is it still elitist if people are required to have an internet connect (just once!)? O wow! my bird just laid eggs!

Although you guys did this for fun – I had to quickly write up a post on my tablet/iPad site to take it a bit further.

I proposed that this could be the future of Personal App Stores….imagine for a moment that you could create your own highly functional web-based apps that rival the same ones in the App Store.

Then…you could sell them yourself. Essentially, you are getting 100% revenue and you have more freedom. There are challenges but the thought is none the less worthy…
