Designer Aaron Draplin lays down 50 points in 50 minutes the only way he knows how – bullshit free. Lots of great advice in here wrapped in great fun. Definitely worth your time.

It’s a great talk. JD Hooge has another Creative Morning talk that’s good. https://vimeo.com/36971953. What stood out was his mention of Aaron at the end of the talk. Minute 43:00.
I wish (Aaron) Draplin was here…We tried to hire him once to make icons for our website…And he was like: “You don’t even need a website, man. Just put up a punk rock photo up there and you’re good. ”

I’m sorry but I have to disagree with you on this one JF.
Out of the 50’ I found there were a few good ideas and 99% BS.
And swearing every other word does not make the content more real or interesting.
I have to agree with John. A few good ideas, 99% BS, senseless use of foul language, and a left wing political partisan hack. These discussions always lose it when they turn political, no matter who they support.
Great talk! As for John and Larry, you guys need to relax a little. It was just a guy being himself and sharing his successes and failures. Take what you will from it and forget about the rest.

Fun energy, but almost all BS with lots of contradictory advice… One tip says don’t waste money on shit and criticizes people for buying artisan foods, and then a few minutes later he urges people to buy vinyl regardless of the cost and to “collect something and horde shit”. He also says he is passionate about US-made products, but later encourages people to buy $8 sweatpants at Wal-Mart.

Rob, contradictory advice is real and honest. It’s human. If you think you’re consistent you’re fooling yourself.
Jason co-founded 37signals back in 1999. He also co-authored REWORK, the New York Times bestselling book on running a "right-sized" business. Co-founded, co-authored... Can he do anything on his own?

It’s just my 2 cents of course.

Thanks Jason – I love the passion Aaron exudes in his talk, so many nuggets of wisdom. To those people who saw 99% BS… sigh
