Does anyone else notice that once you move your mouse over the video, it shows you the video controls (e.g. volume, play/stop) .... but, it seems like once those video controls are shown – they never disappear (always on top of the video).

Btw, nice use of Flash.

JF 19 Oct 07

Tim, I’ve noticed that sometimes too. Seems sorta unpredictable—sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. If you click somewhere else on the page the controls go away. We’ll see if we can figure out why they sometimes stick around longer than they should.

Just curious, why did you swap them out for the Flash versions? Was there a lot of feedback from people not being able to view Quicktime movies?

Either way, I love the videos—great testimonials!

Andrew 19 Oct 07

Ah, Flash video really is taking over. Too bad.

Jeff, re: Quicktime…Andy Kant summed it up pretty well in an earlier thread:

Most Windows users probably don’t have it installed because its rarely if ever used unless you’re forced to install it with iTunes. I’m going to guess that there are more Mac users than Windows ones that use 37signals products though so its probably not much of an issue. It would probably be better to switch to a Flash based player that is more or less universal though (or offer a WMV -encoded version as well).

Thanks for switching to flash. I couldn’t view quicktime.

Nivi 19 Oct 07

The videos look great. What tools did you use to create the Flash files?

Joe 19 Oct 07

It would be nice if there was a way to view them on my iPhone

Great videos! Very compelling, made me go out and see what basecamp was all about. Bravo!

Ryan Fung 22 Oct 07

Is it just me or are the videos’ volume a little low?

Rob 23 Oct 07

Did you guys switch from Camtasia to something else? A full MAC solution perhaps.

Erik 23 Oct 07

I have the same problem as Tim. Maybe you can give this player of Jeroen Wijering a try.

Don Schenck 24 Oct 07

I still have a crush on Michele Seiler. sigh
