"I'm excited to apply some of what I've learned today at the workshop to my company's site. Great information!"
— Workshop Attendee
We'd like to thank everyone who attended our 2002 Contingency Design Workshop series. The two workshops drew attendees from Arizona, California, Illinois, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Washington D.C., and Wisconsin, — plus one person from the Netherlands! Attendees came from a broad cross-section of disciplines including design, information architecture, programming, content management and project management.
During the 6+ hour session we covered an introduction to contingency design, the 46 contingency design guidelines, 10 head-to-head comparisons of how various companies in the same industry handle the same contingency design issues, and demonstrated how people can test their own site's contingency design compliance. For more information on contingency design, download our white paper or visit Design Not Found.
During the vibrant Q&A session we also covered various usability issues, CSS-based design, and the importance of good form design online.
At the end of each workshop we distributed an anonymous questionnaire that asked the attendees to rate their experience on a 5-star scale. The cumulative results are as follows:
| Money/time well spent: |
4.97/5.00 | |
| Covered breadth of topic I expected: |
4.73/5.00 | |
| As detailed as I expected: |
4.52/5.00 | |
| Pacing was just right: |
4.30/5.00 | |
| Topics spread throught the day well: |
4.67/5.00 |
You guys are great — smart, polite, well-prepared and obviously competent and caring.
This workshop gave me a whole new way to think about what to consider when developing a web site.
I paid for this out of my own pocket. I couldn't convince my boss to pay for it. Worth every penny!
The seminar was truly amazing and we learned a great deal of applicable information. We will be incorporating many of your principles in our upcoming projects and we look forward to more of your seminars.
Excellent seminar. Nice opportunity to learn & exchange info/experience with a variety of professionals.
The attendees were amazing. It was cool that people were here from all over the country. I also think the workshop was very affordable — you could charge more, although selfishly, I hope you don't.
Your attention to detail is exquisite. I appreciate the thoroughness of this workshop & will return for other topics.
I'm excited to apply some of what I've learned today at the workshop to my company's site. Great information!
Good examples. Good real-world easy solutions to implement. Very well presented. Put on more workshops, I'll be there.
Definitely worth the price. I'm looking forward to seeing what future workshops you'll offer.
A great change from sitting in front of a computer. Good interaction and energy. Great examples of what not to do and what to do! Eye-opening.
