Love it. Can be applied to application development, but more importantly….. government spending.

Jeff, I was thinking the same thing. Throughout all the spending cut hubbub I kept thinking, “what if instead of just cutting out programs, they simplified structures across the board?”

Yes! Government spending. Doubt you will find “genius” and “government” in the same sentence, but both sides need courage to move in the opposite direction.

Just simplify structures across the board – simple in theory, difficult in execution. You are the “they” in government, so what are you doing about it?

Great quote by the same fella who said “We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.”

That’s one of my favorite quotes. Here’s another:
“Increasingly, people seem to misinterpret complexity as sophistication, which is baffling. The incomprehensible should cause suspicion rather than admiration.” – Niklaus Wirth

Hm, I’ve seen this quote attributed to E. F. Schumacher, but Google does seem to agree with you guys that it’s Einstein.

Did he say this before or after he took part in inventing the biggest bom man had ever seen?

Sound’s like a parallel universe where single payer healthcare and free college education exists, but the Federal Reserve and Military Industrial Complex do not. Yes, Please.
